Who is infected by the hiv virus, becomes hiv positive.
Being hiv positive, doesn't mean that they have the virus that can be transmitted.
HOW CAN IT BE TRANSMITTED
The virus can be found in blood, in sperm, in spermatic liquid in pre-eiaculation, in vaginal secretion, in mother's milk and in amniotic liquid therefore it can only be trasmitted:
- By not protected sexual contact
- By blood to blood contact
- By pregnancy, while giving birth and breast feeding.
HOW IT IS NOT TRANSMITTED
- By salivation (kissing, lickting, by drinking from the same glass)
- From sweating and tears
- By shaking hands, touching or mutual masturbation
- From insect puncture
- By the use of the same toilet
HOW DO YOU PREVENT IT
- With the use of the appropiate prophylactic in penetration or oral contact
- With the use of new instruments and new syringes during the preparation of drugs
- Avoid using the same toothbrush, razor or other cutting objects.
THE TEST
- The HIV test by law, has to be anonymous and free
- In case of at risk behaviour, it is necessary to do the test
- Where to do it: in all public sanitary structures
